Cookie Policy

Cookies on anna app.

Last updated: 16 June 2026. Effective from Q3 2026 launch.
The short version

What we use, what we don't.

This is short because we keep our tracking footprint small. Specifically:

  • Necessary cookies only by default. Cloudflare for security, our own session cookies, and the cookie consent itself.
  • Analytics without cookies. We use Plausible, which is cookie-free.
  • Marketing cookies only with your explicit consent. If we run Meta ads during launch, the Meta pixel is the only marketing cookie that may be set, and only after you tap "Accept" in the banner.
  • No Google Analytics, no Mixpanel, no TikTok or Snapchat pixel, no Pinterest tag, no LinkedIn Insight tag, no Microsoft Bing UET. We list every tool we don't use lower down.

1. What cookies are

Cookies are small text files stored in your browser that let us or a third party recognise you and remember your settings. Similar technologies (local storage, pixels, beacons) work the same way. In this policy, "cookies" covers all of them.

Cookies help the website remember your preferences (like your cookie consent choice) so you don't have to repeat yourself.

2. Types and categories

We use session cookies (deleted when you close your browser) and persistent cookies (kept for a set period, listed below).

Cookies can be first-party (set by anna directly) or third-party (set by a tool we use). We try to keep third-party cookies to a minimum.

We classify cookies into three categories:

  • Necessary. Required for the website to function. You cannot opt out.
  • Statistics. Help us understand how the website is used. Cookie-free where possible.
  • Marketing. Help us measure advertising effectiveness. Only set with your explicit consent.

3. Cookies we use on annahealth.app

3.1 Necessary cookies

CookieProviderPurposeDuration
CookieConsentannaStores your cookie consent preference12 months
__cf_bmCloudflareDistinguishes humans from bots, security30 minutes
_cfuvidCloudflareCDN load balancingSession
__sessionannaMaintains your form session if you sign upSession

These cookies cannot be disabled. They are essential to keep the website secure and functional.

3.2 Statistics cookies

We use Plausible Analytics for website statistics. Plausible is a privacy-first analytics tool that:

  • Doesn't use cookies at all
  • Doesn't track you across other websites
  • Doesn't collect personal data
  • Is GDPR compliant by design
  • Is hosted in the EU

You will not see Plausible cookies in your browser because Plausible doesn't set any. We chose Plausible specifically so we could understand our website traffic without tracking users.

3.2a Analytics cookies (consent-only)

In addition to Plausible, we use the following analytics and measurement tools to understand how the website is used so we can make it better:

  • Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-SPQDJELP3S), with IP anonymisation enabled.
  • Google Tag Manager (container GTM-KHPGLQLP), used only to load the tools listed on this page.
  • Meta Pixel, for measuring the effectiveness of any Meta advertising we run.
  • Microsoft Clarity, for aggregate usage insights such as which sections of a page people read.

None of these tools load on your first visit. They load only after you tap "Accept" in the cookie banner. If you tap "Decline", none of them load, and the website continues to work with no loss of functionality. You can change your mind at any time by clearing your browser storage for this site, which will bring the banner back.

3.3 Marketing cookies (consent-only)

If we run paid advertising on Meta (Facebook, Instagram) or Apple Search Ads during the launch window, the following cookie may be set, but only with your explicit consent through our cookie banner:

CookieProviderPurposeDuration
_fbpMetaIdentifies browsers for advertising measurement90 days
_fbcMetaStores last visit from a Meta ad, if any90 days

If you don't consent, these cookies are not set. You can withdraw consent at any time by clicking the cookie settings widget at the bottom of any page.

3.4 UTM parameters (not cookies, but related)

When you click a link from an email or ad, the URL may contain UTM parameters (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign). These are stored in your browser's session only, not as cookies, and are used to understand which marketing efforts brought you to anna. They are not shared with third parties.

4. What we do NOT use

For transparency, here is the list of tracking tools we don't run on annahealth.app:

Most cookie policies in this category list 30+ trackers across many advertising networks. Ours doesn't, because we don't run them. Specifically, we don't use:

Google Analytics Google Tag Manager Google Ads conversion cookies Mixpanel Hotjar FullStory Heap Amplitude Segment TikTok pixel Snapchat pixel X (Twitter) pixel Pinterest tag LinkedIn Insight tag Microsoft Bing UET YouTube embeds with cookies Adobe Analytics Session replay tools

If we ever add any of these, we will update this policy and re-ask for your consent.

5. Cookies in the anna iOS app

The anna iOS app doesn't use website cookies. Instead, it uses local device storage for:

  • Your authentication session
  • Your in-app preferences and settings
  • Cached daily tips so the app works offline

The app uses AdAttributionKit (Apple's privacy-preserving attribution framework) to measure paid ad performance. AdAttributionKit doesn't identify you to advertisers and works through aggregated, delayed postbacks. It doesn't set cookies on your device.

The app doesn't include third-party advertising SDKs. There are no ads in anna.

6. Mobile app SDKs

The anna iOS app uses these software development kits:

  • Apple HealthKit. For wearable data integration. Required for core functionality.
  • Sentry. For crash reporting. Doesn't collect personal data, only crash stack traces and device type.
  • Supabase SDK. For database connectivity.

We don't currently use AppsFlyer, Adjust, Singular, or any other mobile attribution SDK. We don't use Mixpanel or any product analytics SDK in the iOS app.

7. Managing your cookie preferences

You can change your cookie preferences at any time by clicking the cookie settings widget at the bottom of any page on annahealth.app.

You can also manage cookies through your browser:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
  • Edge: Settings → Privacy, search, and services → Cookies and site permissions

If you delete or block cookies, some parts of the website may not work properly. The cookie consent widget itself depends on a cookie to remember your choice.

For general information on cookies and how to manage them: aboutcookies.org.

8. Do Not Track

Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" (DNT) signal. Because no industry standard governs how websites should respond to DNT, our website doesn't currently change behaviour based on DNT signals. We rely on the explicit consent mechanism in the cookie banner instead, which gives you direct control.

9. Updates to this policy

We may update this cookie policy. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent change.

If we add new tracking tools or change how we use cookies in any material way, we will:

  • Update the cookie banner
  • Notify you in the app where relevant
  • Update this policy and re-ask for consent

10. Contact
